[00:00:35] Jonni Boy: Welcome to the Hero Chat Show, where we will share every two weeks segments, such as at the movies, a new movie we've seen. Watching TV, a new TV show that we're watching. We're gaming together, a video game we're playing and at the con. A Comic-Con we've visited or we could have a special guest, mostly sharing from DC Marvel and star [00:01:00] wars.

[00:01:02] I'm Zane, man. All right. So it's been a minute since we've been to you.

[00:01:07] ZaneMan: I'm sorry for that.

[00:01:08] Jonni Boy: It’s Alright we, sometimes have, to get our host together. Before we can be seated.

[00:01:16] ZaneMan: I I've just been, busy fighting crime out there. It’s a crime city. Let me tell you that.

[00:01:21] Jonni Boy: Our, host has been busy, school work, you name it

[00:01:25] ZaneMan: well not you name it, basically. Those two things,

[00:01:27] Jonni Boy: those two things. That's right. So he is been taking up his time with that. You wanna get into, it.

[00:01:32] ZaneMan: Might as well.

[00:01:34] Jonni Boy: All right, let's do it.

[00:01:35] At the Movies

[00:01:35] Daddylacus: It's the Hero Chat Show at the Movies!

[00:01:42] Jonni Boy: We're going back in the archives, taking a look at the Marvel cinematic universe, Shung Chi and the legend of the 10 rings released a year ago, September 3rd, 2021, starring SAMU as sh or Sean sh Chi or Sean [00:02:00] Aquafina as Kathy, Tony chin wide Lee as, Z Wu Ben Kingsley as Trevor Slattery.

[00:02:09] Next to a appear in marvels wonder man series. Although that has not been a confirmed series yet directed by the director of the next Avengers movie, Avengers, the Kang Dynasty, Justin Daniel CR. Shang Chi the master of weaponry based Kung Fu, forced to confront his past after being drawn into the 10 rings organization.

[00:02:35] ZaneMan: that sounded like it. I, think that this was probably the best movie of that phase for what had come out at that point, cuz I, I felt like it was very lackluster that phase.

[00:02:46] Jonni Boy: Well, up until that point, you only had the one movie, you only had Black Widow, which was basically push back, push back, push back, cuz of COVID and then Shang-Chi I think was the first one.

[00:02:57] Well, no Black Widow was shown a little bit in theaters, but most [00:03:00] people watched it at home and then Shang- Chi was the first one.

[00:03:03] ZaneMan: Yeah. But didn't Dr. Strange. Also come on that, of.

[00:03:05] Jonni Boy: Yeah. So it was Black Widow, Shang-Chi Eternals Spider-Man: No Way Home. Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Thor: Love and Thunder.

[00:03:13] And then we in phase four in November with Black Panther, Wakanda Forever,

[00:03:19] ZaneMan: I think. Yeah. I think out of those, either the Spider-Man movie or sh she would've to be the best ones.

[00:03:26] Jonni Boy: I agree. Probably Spider-Man cuz I've seen that one a few and we'll get into that. We'll talk a little bit about that Eternals. I mean that basically put us to sleep.

[00:03:35] ZaneMan: Yeah. I, relaxing in that theater.

[00:03:37] We were relaxed as, I all get out in that theater with Eternals. So Shang-Chi and the Legend of the 10 rings.

[00:03:45] Jonni Boy: there's a, a flashback at the very beginning. Don't you don't want me to do the flashback Friday. You want me to do that?

[00:03:56] ZaneMan: It's funny. Cuz if people don't watch this in order, they have no idea what that's referring

[00:03:59] Jonni Boy: to. They probably [00:04:00] don't and it it's funny that they don't know without to go back and listen to the one previous to this that's called getting views that is called getting views.

[00:04:08] So the legend of the 10 rings, the legend is one man. He said to have found the rings in a crater or stole them from a tomb strength of a God in eternal life. Show him, basically in ancient battle with his army of the 10 rings spread to every corner of the earth and it toppled governments.

[00:04:28] ZaneMan: And if you had watched the other Marvel movies, you might recognize the 10 rings referring to, Ironman.

[00:04:34] Jonni Boy: Ironman. The original. Yeah. He was supposedly kidnapped by the 10 rings organization when he was in the cave with the box of scraps.

[00:04:44] ZaneMan: Yeah.

[00:04:45] Jonni Boy: So, he starts looking for the legend of Tao Lo. An ancient, hidden land with mystical creatures as they're, looking the forest closes in and crashes the vehicle and they come across a woman and he's not welcome in the village.[00:05:00]

[00:05:00] They fight, she wins. Empowered by magic of the great protector, a dragon.

[00:05:06] ZaneMan: Yeah. It’s like a powerful dragon that, lets you have power that lets you beat men.

[00:05:11] Jonni Boy: And we will see that a little bit later on in the movie, but it was a really cool sequence, you know, she's stirring up, the. Leaves and the wind and everything. And she's basically looking like she's just doing a subtle dance and she's beating the crap out of him.

[00:05:25] ZaneMan: The choreography for this movie is really nice.

[00:05:27] Jonni Boy: Yeah. It was really cool. He's using the 10 rings. I mean, he's really being forceful and she's just kind of doing a dance and she's really whipping his butt and he, uh, you know, of course falls in love.

[00:05:40] ZaneMan: Yeah. That's how it happens.

[00:05:42] Jonni Boy: Yep. And so you see him, go to San Francisco Sean is parking cars at the, Fairmount with, Katie, his friend, they're joy riding in a hot car. They go to dinner with friends, then they're getting ready to, you know, go home. And they were like, it's not time to go [00:06:00] home yet.

[00:06:00] So they go do karaoke until late. And then they go to Katie's house, Ms. Chen, mom and family, and then they take the bus to work.

[00:06:09] ZaneMan: Yeah. That's the dream.

[00:06:11] Jonni Boy: Living the dream, you know, living the dream and they are getting picked on by the family for working, just parking cars, cuz they have like, you know, college degrees and all this kind of stuff.

[00:06:23] ZaneMan: Yeah.

[00:06:24] Jonni Boy: So they're on the bus and a guy asks for Sean's pendant, two guys, hold him. And he defeats the two guys. Then a guy in the back of the bus, razor fist, dun dun dun starts to fight, knocks out. The driver cuts the bus in half crashes. The bus razor fist gets his necklace. Katie wants to know who Sean is.

[00:06:51] And then Sean needs to find his sister. Katie will go with him.

[00:06:55] ZaneMan: when you said razor fist reminded me of that con that we went to and I [00:07:00] reminded me of the video that we took of them singing, I Want it that Way by the

[00:07:03] Jonni Boy: Backstreet boys.

[00:07:04] ZaneMan: Yeah.

[00:07:05] Jonni Boy: Yeah. That was good. Seeing them on the panel, all three of them, they seemed, uh, really close from the movie.

[00:07:11] ZaneMan: Yeah.

[00:07:11] Jonni Boy: And shooting that movie. A lot of people were excited, because razor fist and the comics fights Wolverine. So they were excited about seeing razor fist. And that whole scene was, was the movie. I mean they filmed that. I think they had the storyboards or whatever for that, when they went to talk to them about doing this movie.

[00:07:32] And I really think that it makes the movie, you get a little appearance by, a little known actor from the Spider-Man movie. The one that's like yelling. Hell yo. Spider-Man yeah. He's the videotaping on the bus? The fight.

[00:07:47] ZaneMan: Yeah. I think I thought it was really funny in that part

[00:07:49] Jonni Boy: And that's what gets him all the views.

[00:07:51] Jonni Boy: We'll talk about that a little bit later. we will have spoilers, so we should tell people there's gonna be spoilers in case you haven't seen it, but it's a year old. You should have seen it by now. If you got Disney, plus [00:08:00] what are you doing? Watch this movie.

[00:08:01] ZaneMan: Yeah, we, do all spoilers here.

[00:08:04] Jonni Boy: It's like we spoil the whole thing within the first we spoil it within the first few minutes.

[00:08:08] ZaneMan: We're gonna spoil movies that we're not even talking about today.

[00:08:11] Jonni Boy: Probably. So, so if you haven't watched any of those movies, you need to go watch those too.

[00:08:15] ZaneMan: I'll get a disclaimer being like, don't watch. If you haven't watched all seven Harry Potter movies, you need to watch every single Marvel movie go back and watch, Goldilocks and three bears.

[00:08:26] Marker

[00:08:26] Jonni Boy: Yeah. Yep. Sean explains on the plane. They’re heading to Macau. He says after his mom, died, his dad started training son up to sundown to kill a man Sean's sister secretly learned and trained two at 14. He was sitting on, on his first assignment. And Sean ran away. His name is not Sean.

[00:08:47] He reveals and

[00:08:48] ZaneMan: no, it has to be Sean.

[00:08:50] Jonni Boy: It's not Sean. But it's something close to Sean. Sean, its Sean. It's Sean it's sh [00:09:00] oh, sh Chi, but it's close enough to Sean.

[00:09:03] ZaneMan: I think people think that's why the movie's called sh Chi. Like Shachi yeah. Like SHA, like Shachi, you know,

[00:09:11] Jonni Boy: and, and so she gives him a hard time.

[00:09:14] Is it Shawn or Shang-Chi

[00:09:16] ZaneMan: Yeah, no, I not. What you said she said is, so Sean Chi,

[00:09:19] Jonni Boy: Sean Chi. So they give a little bit of hard time about, you know, SHA to Sean then we see, I'm not sure what his sister's name is. Zine.

[00:09:29] ZaneMan: I don't know.

[00:09:30] Jonni Boy: Xi-Ling. I'm not sure if, how to pronounce it, referenced, as the she's looking for him and he's like, oh yeah, that's right.

[00:09:37] You're the bus boy, 2 million views in three days. And the guy's name is John. John.

[00:09:42] ZaneMan: John. John.

[00:09:43] Jonni Boy: That's used to be my name when I was little. Did you know that?

[00:09:46] ZaneMan: No, I, I thought it was Jonni pistol.

[00:09:48] Jonni Boy: That was my first radio name, but my sister couldn't say John. So she called me John, John. And I learned that, when I went back to a church that we used to go to one of the, so you called me that so much [00:10:00] that people that went to school with her knew that I was John, John.

[00:10:03] ZaneMan: I think you're giving away your secret identity right now.

[00:10:05] Jonni Boy: I am and it's okay. He basically welcomes them to the club and it's a, fight club. It's the golden dagger club they're moving through. And John tells, Shane, he's going to fight. We see, some black widow extremists. We see abomination, and Wong, which was a big deal.

[00:10:23] Yeah, it was pretty cool. Yeah, that was cool. Wong basically is the thread that holds, the. Kind of the glue, you know, through phase four,

[00:10:32] ZaneMan: Wongers sorry that hasn't happened yet.

[00:10:35] Jonni Boy: That hasn't happened yet. They fight and then John, John helps some to find what they're, looking for, which is, sh Chi and zing in a flashback.

[00:10:42] He promised he'd be back in three days and he wasn't back at three days, turned into a month and then six years, bus boy, and then the sister fight in the club. She owns the club. Of course she wins. She beats him down. The funny part here, you know, she looks down or he [00:11:00] looks down from the fighting ring and he sees his friend, Katie and she's drinking.

[00:11:03] And she's like, what happened to your shirt?

[00:11:06] ZaneMan: Yeah.

[00:11:07] Jonni Boy: Cause he took his shirt off and she never seen him ripped.

[00:11:10] ZaneMan: That was a good impression. I noticed how you've been doing that one in the mirror too.

[00:11:12] Jonni Boy: You like that? Yeah. What happened to your shirt?

[00:11:14] ZaneMan: That was, that was good. One. I wish they could see what you do with your hands.

[00:11:17] Jonni Boy: Right. Now's I know it's pretty, it's pretty funny. So, she also but against him. Yeah that too. Yeah. She bet against him. And he's like, why would you send me a postcard? She's like, I didn't send you a postcard. bum bum. I know she didn't send a postcard.

[00:11:29] So who sent the postcard?

[00:11:30] ZaneMan: I was still smiling because of the, because of your shirt and impression. I thought it was really funny.

[00:11:34] Jonni Boy: What happened to your shirt?

[00:11:36] I just got more girly that time. Didn't it?

[00:11:39] ZaneMan: That was a good one.

[00:11:40] Jonni Boy: You like it? I've been trying 10 rings, show up with razor fist. Uh, Sean and Katie escape through the window.

[00:11:47] Sean takes on the 10 rings. Katie falls, his sister, gets Katie, from, the 10 rings and the death dealer, steals the necklace, and sh gives chase. They fight, win. Wenwu breaks up the fight and he's [00:12:00] like, let's go home, win. Wenwu is the dad?

[00:12:02] ZaneMan: Yeah.

[00:12:03] Jonni Boy: He's the one that they call.

[00:12:05] Bum bum

[00:12:08] ZaneMan: Wenwu?

[00:12:10] Jonni Boy: Wenwu they call him the Mandarin.

[00:12:15] ZaneMan: Oh yeah.

[00:12:16] Jonni Boy: You'll tell that story a little bit later, but she's like, where's your shirt.

[00:12:19] ZaneMan: Oh, she doesn't say that. She doesn't say that anymore. That's the only time.

[00:12:23] Jonni Boy: That's the only time she said it.

[00:12:24] ZaneMan: Did you practice it for more time?

[00:12:26] Jonni Boy: I tried to, I wanted to include it more in the thing.

[00:12:28] It doesn't work more than the one time

[00:12:30] ZaneMan: I just can try to include it more, but it's gonna work.

[00:12:31] Jonni Boy: we'll check it out. See, if we can do it anymore.

[00:12:34] ZaneMan: I thought you were gonna say Mandalorian and not Mandarin.

[00:12:36] Jonni Boy: You thought so.

[00:12:38] ZaneMan: keep getting it mixed up in my head. I don't know why

[00:12:39] Jonni Boy: in your head. You're like, you know, you start hearing the, music and seeing baby Yoda and all that.

[00:12:43] ZaneMan: Yeah.

[00:12:44] Jonni Boy: Yeah. It's not the Mandalorian. It. The Mandarin,

[00:12:47] ZaneMan: but its close. It is close. The Mandel in

[00:12:49] Jonni Boy: it is close. It is close. He’s excited cuz his son is home. We find out that the sister left at 16 at dinner.

[00:12:58] He explains the [00:13:00] Mandarin from iron man three. So we talk about Trevor SLT.

[00:13:05] ZaneMan: Yeah.

[00:13:05] Jonni Boy: Who, plays the Mandarin. In that movie, a lot of people were upset about that. And that whole twist when that happened in Ironman three, his names that he's gone by has been Warrior King, Master Khan, Wenwu. But when he talks the subtitles say Mandarin.

[00:13:23] ZaneMan: Yeah. That’s just cuz that's what people know him by at this point.

[00:13:26] Jonni Boy: Yeah. So that's what the subtitles, were saying when he talked. They basically, wondering like what the necklaces were for.

[00:13:36] Marker

[00:13:36] Jonni Boy: So he, takes the necklaces, just the, necklace part and he puts 'em onto a dragon. And it's a gate into the mountains of Tao Lo, the secret place that we were talking about earlier. He's like, your mother's waiting for us there. He's hearing their mother. She wanted to live in Tao Lo, They said that Wenwu wasn't worthy to live there.

[00:13:56] ZaneMan: That's a tongue twister.

[00:13:57] Jonni Boy: I know. You're surprised I got all that out.

[00:13:59] ZaneMan: Yeah. [00:14:00] Try, to do the Wenwu wasn't worthy.

[00:14:02] Jonni Boy: Wenwu wasn't worthy.

[00:14:03] ZaneMan: Now do that five times

[00:14:04] Jonni Boy: Wenwu wasn't worthy Wenwu wasn't worthy.

[00:14:06] ZaneMan: You're

[00:14:07] Jonni Boy: taking pause

[00:14:07] Wenwu wasn't worthy.

[00:14:08] Where's your shirt?

[00:14:10] ZaneMan: What? That, no, what? That

[00:14:11] Jonni Boy: doesn't happen there.

[00:14:12] ZaneMan: I guess you got it then I guess that's all that matters.

[00:14:14] Jonni Boy: That's all that all counts.

[00:14:16] Marker

[00:14:16] Jonni Boy: says he's not talking, to us or leaving clues, Wenwu basically, shows the penance of the dragon. It brings water and shows them a path to Tao Lo that only opens up once a year and Wenwu locks them up and then he hears the voice of the mom.

[00:14:35] Bum, Bum, Bum!

[00:14:37] ZaneMan: You do that a lot.

[00:14:38] Jonni Boy: I know. It's like, where's your shirt?

[00:14:39] No, that, all right. So Shang his sister, Katie discover the fake Mandarin Trever Sattery.

[00:14:52] ZaneMan: You clearly didn't practice that one.

[00:14:53] Jonni Boy: I didn't do that one. So the sister leaves. She goes to, find, you know, they, I, they don't [00:15:00] know where she goes. They don't even really realize that she's gone anywhere.

[00:15:02] Cuz they're talking to, Trevor Slattery and he's, like, you can see Morris.

[00:15:07] ZaneMan: Yeah. Cuz Morris comes out and they're like,

[00:15:09] Jonni Boy: it's a little mythical creature.

[00:15:10] ZaneMan: They're like, oh what is that? And he's like, you can see Morris.

[00:15:13] Jonni Boy: it almost looks like a Ottoman, like a Ottoman that's alive.

[00:15:17] ZaneMan: Yeah, I guess so.

[00:15:18] Jonni Boy: Yeah. He wants you to take him home. Morris can guide you and the sister breaks through the wall to the garage and they steal razor fists car. What I thought was funny here was, Trevor Slattery is, translating for the carpet thing.

[00:15:34] ZaneMan: One of my favorite parts in the movie is when they're going through the forest and he's just like saying everything he's like trying to translate while they're driving like left.

[00:15:41] Right? Yeah. But he's like left. He's like in the middle of a sentence and they just has left.

[00:15:47] Jonni Boy: And then he's talking like the whole time. Yeah. Well, he says there's a 90% chance that they'll make it through. And he's like, whoops, I'm sorry. 19%. That goes from 90% to [00:16:00] 19%. So Morris leads them to tall. They meet auntie Nan.

[00:16:05] Our father's coming is what they tell auntie Nan. Our people have been here for 4,000 years. She says, they're keeper of the dark gate in this realm. Dad is coming to unlock the gate. He thinks you're holding mom behind it.

[00:16:18] ZaneMan: What is the mom behind it?

[00:16:19] Jonni Boy: The mom could be behind it. What is she? If she looks like a big.

[00:16:23] Narly

[00:16:24] ZaneMan: don't spoil it.

[00:16:26] Jonni Boy: Dragon thing, like,

[00:16:28] ZaneMan: oh, you just something why'd you. I just told you not to spoil it.

[00:16:32] Jonni Boy: Katie was like, where's your shirt?

[00:16:33] ZaneMan: No, she doesn't say that anymore.

[00:16:35] She doesn't say that to the dragon. No, she wasn't wearing a shirt.

[00:16:39] That's a good point. I think she should have said she should've said it one more time right there.

[00:16:42] That, that would've been continuity. She should've said it there, but maybe it. Wasn't established that it wore a shirt.

[00:16:49] Jonni Boy: That's true. That is true. Dragon scales, soul eaters, know the 10 rings have the power to break through, gives them dragon scaled [00:17:00] uniforms and welcomes them to the family.

[00:17:02] auntie gives, the sister a weapon and says, that Shung will train with auntie. And I thought that that was kind of cool because the dragon scales protect them and light up. So they use them on their weapons and all their, their gear.

[00:17:15] ZaneMan: I think that Shung cheese outfit was a lot less cool than his sister's outfit.

[00:17:22] Jonni Boy: Yeah. Cuz hers was like more of like a white outfit. His was red,

[00:17:25] ZaneMan: it was just red cuz everyone else had the red color, but hers was white. So every time that you saw her, you would be like, oh there she is. And then you'd be like, which one is he?

[00:17:33] Jonni Boy: Yeah. And I thought it was cool because, Katie is learning how to do the bow and arrow.

[00:17:38] Yeah. You know, who's trying to become, uh, finder purpose.

[00:17:41] ZaneMan: That was, that was a good part.

[00:17:42] Jonni Boy: Yeah. Kind of thing. That was pretty neat. Then there's a flashback Friday.

[00:17:49] ZaneMan: Great.

[00:17:51] Jonni Boy: Iron gang shows up to get revenge on Wenwu His wife, is basically there. He's not .When Wenwu returns. His wife is dead. [00:18:00]

[00:18:00] He puts the rings back on and takes Shang with him to defeat the iron gang in front of Shang. At 14 Wenwu found the man that killed Shang's mother and sent Shang out to kill him. Shang lied to Katie, basically, they're tall and they're near the water. And he basically tells Katie that, uh, he did kill the guy.

[00:18:22] ZaneMan: Yeah. I mean he did,

[00:18:24] Jonni Boy: yeah, you can't really blame him.

[00:18:27] ZaneMan: He was told to,

[00:18:28] Jonni Boy: He was told to, and he went out and did it, but you know, it made him sound at the beginning, like less of a badass, but he, wasn't gonna stoop to that level kind of thing. Like his dad.

[00:18:38] ZaneMan: Yeah. I mean, but he had to cuz his dad was like, I double dog dare you.

[00:18:43] Jonni Boy: Yeah. And his tongue got stuck the, to the pole and then Katie was like, where's your shirt?

[00:18:48] ZaneMan: I have no you that was off the rail. I don't know where that went.

[00:18:51] Jonni Boy: That's just part that I remember from watching the movie.

[00:18:54] ZaneMan: I don't, I genuinely don't think that wasn't part of it. What were you watching?

[00:18:58] Jonni Boy: I was watching something.

[00:18:59] ZaneMan: You were looking in your notes [00:19:00] to find where you read that.

[00:19:01] Jonni Boy: I was, I was looking to see where I wrote that down, but it's not here

[00:19:05] Wenwu shows up at tall as they prep with dragon scales. Auntie says, you can't do that.

[00:19:11] Auntie faces the death dealer. Sister faces, iron fist .Wenwu pays his respects to his wife and then Wenwu versus Shang-Chi. Wenwu blast him into the water and hits to the gate. And he hears the voice of his wife and Wenwu blast the gate with the rings and creatures start coming out. Creatures kill the death, eat and razor fists agrees to work together.

[00:19:34] Then there's a mega soul sucker.

[00:19:36] ZaneMan: Yeah.

[00:19:37] Jonni Boy: That comes out. That's the mom. She's a mega soul sucker.

[00:19:42] ZaneMan: Yeah.

[00:19:42] Jonni Boy: It's not very nice. I don't think

[00:19:44] ZaneMan: it's a pretty mean name.

[00:19:45] Jonni Boy: I don't believe that. Uh, she would like that name.

[00:19:48] No, she wouldn't.

[00:19:49] If she wanted a, she, we gave your mom the name mega so sucker. I don't think she would like it.

[00:19:52] ZaneMan: I don't think she would like that. You said that on the podcast.

After breathing the Dragon's breath through the bubbles, Shang-Chi rides to dragon goes to stop his father at the gate.

[00:20:16] They fight sh Chi takes the five of the rings. They change to yellow, which was kind of cool. It was purple with his dad.

[00:20:24] Jonni Boy: Then they fight with the rings. Shung has all 10 rings and then he throws them all back at Wenwu yep. Bum bum, bum. It's really neat. You know, when they do the ring part and he gets half the rings, you're like, oh man, he's doing exactly what his mom's in to do.

[00:20:42] He's taking the best of her and the best of, best of his dad,

[00:20:45] ZaneMan: The best of both worlds.

[00:21:21] Basically Shang seals the gate. So it's come quite a long. Shang and his sister both ride the dragon. They take on the Mega Soul Sucker.

[00:22:40] Jonni Boy: Then Katie and Chung leave with Wong and that's the end.

[00:22:45] ZaneMan: I think that must be a world record for you. That's like the fastest you've ever gone through a movie.

[00:22:50] Jonni Boy: I, mean, I just felt like it was just, where's your shirt kind of fast.

[00:22:54] ZaneMan: That's how you would explain kind of fast just saying where's your shirt.

[00:22:57] Jonni Boy: So fast that your shirt would get ripped off. So [00:23:00] then you're like, where's your shirt?

[00:23:03] Jonni Boy: Probably is. I, I probably should have practiced more. Well, you know, it's Marvel. So there's a mid-credit scene. There's an after credit scene.

[00:23:11] ZaneMan: Oh, is that where you to explain it scene by like pixel, by pixel,

[00:23:15] Jonni Boy: pixel by pixel. So it starts to reverberate back from a black screen into the colored screen long is studying the rings with banner and captain Marvel. A beacon in the rings is sending a message won Katie and Shung then sing karaoke. Yeah, because they were like, let's go home.

[00:23:36] And he is like, it's too early to go home. Yeah. Let's sing some karaoke. And they sing a song called hotel, California. Yeah. And the reason why they sing this song is because Katie said that at one time, when I guess Shung was getting ready to get into a fight, she looked at the guy and started singing hotel, California, confused him.

[00:23:58] And then earlier in the [00:24:00] movie, she did it to one of the 10 rings when they were, outside the fight club and she sang hotel California again. So it was funny that they were singing hotel California.

[00:24:10] ZaneMan: And she said it was the best defense.

[00:24:12] Jonni Boy: Yeah. And Wong's got a beautiful voice.

[00:24:15] ZaneMan: Yeah. He kind of does.

[00:24:17] Jonni Boy: Yeah. It was a beautiful voice. And then Katie's like, you know, where's your shirt.

[00:24:21] ZaneMan: She doesn't say that anymore.

[00:24:23] Jonni Boy: You didn't have a shirt on.

[00:24:24] ZaneMan: It was the first time she said the first time.

[00:25:04] ZaneMan: Yeah.

[00:25:05] Jonni Boy: So based on that and based on phase four, where would you put this movie? If you're thinking about Black Widows, Shang-Chi Eternals, Spider-Man, Dr. Strange and Thor: Love and Thunder.

[00:25:20] ZaneMan: Well, I think I already got into this a little bit, but.

[00:25:23] I would say it's either at the very top or right below Spider-Man. I don't think that this phase was the strongest phase. I don't think it was even close to the strongest phase. I think it's on the lower lower side of the spectrum. Honestly, let me see if I can remember them. I'd probably place, black widow at the lowest, out of this phase, I'm just doing this phase. And then Thor: Love and Thunder I'll do next. And then I would do, Dr. Strange MoM. I, like I said, Spider-Man or Shang-Chi at the top for this phase.

[00:25:52] Jonni Boy: Well, the only one that you forgot and probably cuz you slept through it was Eternals.

[00:25:55] ZaneMan: Right? That one's, not even on the list,

[00:25:58] Jonni Boy: that's not even, you didn't make the list [00:26:00] and make your list at all.

[00:26:01] ZaneMan: It's just not even on the, I it's so bad that I'm mentally repressing it as we speak.

[00:26:19] Jonni Boy: I had Eternals at six, Thor: Love and Thunder thunder at five, Black Widow at four , Dr. Strange MOM, three Shang-Chi two, and Spider-Man: No Way Home at one.

[00:26:28] ZaneMan: So it's basically the same, right?

[00:26:29] Jonni Boy: Basically almost the same.

[00:26:30] ZaneMan: Except you kept Eternals on there.

[00:26:32] Jonni Boy: You did black widow and I think Thor different or something. Oh. You ranked, that one a little lower than what I did. I liked black widow. I thought it was okay because I really liked yo Oliva. What's her name?

[00:26:46] ZaneMan: I liked her a lot.

[00:26:46] I liked her a lot, but I think she was like the only things I liked about that movie. I was really excited to see taskmaster, but they like completely changed everything about that character.

[00:26:56] Jonni Boy: Yeah. You know, I was thinking the other day about the [00:27:00] movies and the shows, you know, cuz they're not getting like phase four has just kind of been wonky.

[00:27:05] It's a lot of material to, think about when you think about all the movies and all the shows. A lot of it was made during the pandemic during COVID. And so I think that kind of messed it up a little bit too, because some of the earlier ones, I think they could have been better, but they weren't better because of, COVID. Now Eternals were just a hot mess.

[00:27:27] ZaneMan: I don't know what they were trying.

[00:27:28] Jonni Boy: I don't know what they were trying to do with Eternals, but cuz that's supposed to be all colorful. And I remember, watching the honest trailer for that one and he's talking about they sucked all the color out of it. Cuz the comic book was so full of color.

[00:27:38] it's the same guy that did, Thor: Ragnarok and was so colorful, it's the same guy, Jack Kirby that did that and they saturated the color out of the eternal. So just with that palette, they messed it up. Yeah. But it's just so much stuff. And I really think that COVID hurt 'em a little bit as well with them not being able to produce maybe the [00:28:00] quality that they could have had to change some things and make things shorter and that kind of thing.

[00:28:04] So I think it hurt a little bit and it made this so wonky cuz it was so long anyway.

[00:28:09] ZaneMan: Well since we're probably gonna phase out of Marvel for these, two other sections that we have for today,

[00:28:14] ZaneMan: What are you thinking about the future of Marvel so far after everything being announced?

[00:28:19] Jonni Boy: I don't know.

[00:28:20] I'm, concerned a little bit. I mean, they have some cool things coming up. Secret Invasion looks pretty cool. I'm interested to see, post COVID. I think we're gonna get some really good shows and movies post COVID. Like I think five's gonna really kind of gear it up and going into six.

[00:28:37] I feel like they could just go to the limit, but they did announce, Scarlet Witch movie. I don't really know if we need that. And we have a Captain America movie as well. I don't really know if we need that, but they said that the Ant-man movie, which is the next movie and that's the first movie in phase five is gonna lead directly into the Avengers movie, with, Kang.

[00:28:58] And then they said that [00:29:00] the Secret Invasion is going to lead right into The Marvels... So you're having some, you know, kind of stuff that you should have probably had, with Multiverse of Madness and Dr. Strange what they had to flip things and they had to change things. So I think, I don't think they got the story exactly the way they wanted it.

[00:29:16] So I think it's gonna be a little bit better, but I there's so much stuff to pay attention to now. Yeah. It's so much stuff to pay attention to and then you're trying to get all the zingers and all the little stuff. And I think sometimes they're just kinda pushing the, we're appeasing, the fans button, you know, There's like, boom.

[00:29:34] Did you see that in there? Poo did you see that in there? We put that in there for you guys, for you fans. I think there needs to be less of that and just more working on the story and the characters. That's what I really felt like the first three phases were focused on. Like really great stories, really great characters, really great action, really great movies.

[00:29:52] And I hope they kind of get back to that. What are your thoughts?

[00:29:55] ZaneMan: I'm a little bit sad that they, I think they push back Quantumania. Didn't they? [00:30:00]

[00:30:00] Jonni Boy: Yeah, a little bit.

[00:30:01] ZaneMan: I like both of the Antman movies. And so I've high hopes for that, even though it's one of the first movies after

[00:30:07] Jonni Boy: it's after Black Panther.

[00:30:10] Jonni Boy: So you're gonna get it the first of the year. They actually pushed The Marvels movie back further,

[00:30:14] ZaneMan: They pushed the marvels back too. And I, thought about that. I was like, I would be interested in seeing that. But now they've already set up for it. And so by the time that we see The Marvels, I'm not gonna remember any of it.

[00:30:26] Jonni Boy: Well, and they said something during the D 23, they said that in the show, Ms. Marvel, when she changes places with Captain Marvel. That all three of 'em change places. So wherever Photon or whatever, I think she's at on the, outside in space outside of where Nick Fury is.

[00:30:46] I think they call it the saber she's outside the saber in space. And so wherever, Ms. Marvel was photon goes there. [00:31:00] Wherever, and we know where Ms. Marvel was; she was at home. Captain Marvel goes there. And then Ms. Marvel goes to where Photon was outside the saber. Yeah. Cause they said the footage she's knocking on the door to try to let have Fury let her in. So yeah, we'll get those. It's taken a while, but that's what I'm saying. You have to watch so much stuff.

[00:31:23] Remember so much stuff and, oh, that's right. And then re-watch stuff. But I enjoyed rewatching, Shang-Chi. that was one of the ones I liked, you know, top three out of the six, movies that they had in that phase four.

[00:31:42] I mean, I've watched it a couple times. It's enjoyable to watch and always use that as an indicator. But I don't know where I would rate it on all of them. I didn't really do that. I didn't do that full list.

[00:32:37] Jonni Boy: That's how they sewed it up. But the air date started December, 29th, 2021. It was Wednesdays on Disney plus, you had Temuera Morrison as Boba Fett Ming-Na Wen as Fennec Shand Pedro Pascal is the Mandalorian. Matt Barry is eight, eight Carrie Jones as black Krrsantan. [00:33:00] And it was created by John Favreau. Bounty hunter Boba Fett and mercenary, Fennec Shand navigate the underworld where they return to Tatooine, to claim Jabba the Hutt's old turf.

[00:33:11] ZaneMan: Yeah. I think. That's what they do

[00:33:13] Jonni Boy: So you go into episode four or chapter four, we're reading the book of Boba Fett. It's the gathering storm. Boba Fett partners with Fennec Shand. So it's a flashback on Tatooine

[00:33:26] ZaneMan: oh gosh.

[00:33:28] Jonni Boy: The Bacta Tank Boba's in the Bacta Tank wandering, on the Banta makes it to Jaba/Bib's palace spies on the palace.

[00:33:37] And how many guards or guarding the palace. Tells the Bantha the not today, still too many guards. There are still on Tatooine. They've been on Tatooine.

[00:33:47] ZaneMan: Everyone goes back to Tatooine.

[00:33:49] Jonni Boy: Always on Tatooine. Two explosions in the night sky. Fett, as we guess, while watching the Mandalorian finds Fennec. He's the one that finds [00:34:00] Fennec.

[00:34:00] ZaneMan: Fennec.

[00:34:01] Jonni Boy: They remember in that episode where he finds it and they didn't show who it was, but they had the spurs and people were like, oh, that's Boba Fett. And they were all excited. Well, it was Boba Fett. He found Fennec.

[00:34:11] ZaneMan: Was it Boba Fett?

[00:34:12] Jonni Boy: It was Boba Fett.

[00:34:13] ZaneMan: No way!

[00:34:14] Jonni Boy: Boba Fett, Boba Fett! So, he goes to the mod because basically she is all messed up Fett takes Shand for modifications. Shand wakes up and Fett says you were dying of a gunshot and I saved your life. You are a master assassin, Fennec Shand of the mid help me recover my Fire Spray gunship.

[00:34:38] So this is the first time they talk about his ship. And the name of the ship now has changed because people were upset that it was called Slave One.

[00:34:47] ZaneMan: Yeah.

[00:34:48] Jonni Boy: So now it's called the Fire Spray and this is the first mention of it in a show or anything else,

[00:34:53] ZaneMan: But the Lego set still called Slave One.

[00:34:57] Jonni Boy: Did they? They didn't call it the Fire Spray.

[00:34:58] ZaneMan: I think they called it the Slave [00:35:00] One.

[00:35:00] Jonni Boy: So we go back to Jaba, Boba or Bib's palace. Shand uses a device to scan the palace. She's like there's too many guards. That's what Bobba says. And she's like, we need to time their patrols go in quiet, Boba and Fennec, take on three droids in the kitchen. Fennec, take on like all the guards and gets the Fire Spray out.

[00:35:21] So it really should be called Fennec Shand, The Book of Fennec Shand instead the Book of Boba Fett. Cuz she's the one that kicks all the ass.

[00:35:27] ZaneMan: The Book of Shand.

[00:35:28] Jonni Boy: The Book of Shand. Fett kill the Nico riders and they take on the Sarlac. Fennec kills the Sarlac I, mean, she's killing everything. Boba looks for his armor inside the Sarlac.

[00:35:42] They blow it up with one of the bombs that they used back in episode two when they were in that fight. When, he was following Obi-Wan one was following yeah, his dad and they used that bomb. That kind of just. Stop then all of a sudden you hear,

[00:35:59] ZaneMan: did [00:36:00] you do that impression too?

[00:36:01] Jonni Boy: I did. I practiced that one in front of the mirror. Was that good?

[00:36:03] ZaneMan: I mean, I, guessed cuz I, saw you doing the, you smiled afterwards waiting for my

[00:36:07] Jonni Boy: well, I was waiting for your approval. Did I get your approval or

[00:36:09] ZaneMan: it was pretty good. I guess

And then, you see the mayor's major dojo singing black K takes on a Trandoshan, Garsa Fwip, Garsa Fwip's house or the, you know, the sanctuary and she tries to talk him down, but black K rips his arms off the Trandoshan

[00:36:44] showing that. Wookie will rip your arms off

[00:36:49] ZaneMan: that's the finisher in, in the complete saga.

[00:36:51] Jonni Boy: Yeah. you know, you ripped the arms off, Boba witnessed, and he basically gives black K a job Boba meets with the families of Tatooine it's the [00:37:00] Trandoshans it's Aqualish

[00:37:02] it's the Klatoonians they ask to remain neutral. If the Pike syndicate contacts them. We must prepare for war Fett says, as they're leaving, I'm short on muscle, but heavy on credit. And then Fennec says, credits can buy you muscle. And then we hear a little bit of the tease of the theme that we all want to hear.

[00:37:25] ZaneMan: Yeah. Did you practice that one?

[00:37:27] Jonni Boy: I didn't do that one. I don't know how to do the theme. It's like a bunch of sticks.

[00:37:30] ZaneMan: Okay.

[00:37:32] Jonni Boy: That's not it. I can't do that one, but anyway, it was the Mando theme. Yeah.

[00:37:38] ZaneMan: The Mandarin theme,

[00:38:31] Jonni Boy: Never got fired, but that guy got, he really got thrown, you know, for a loop because the inquisitor, he was the one asking for water and, but in front of her, yeah. So he got his do its Mando Mandarin its mandellorian Delian he goes further into the plant, looking for, Kaba, Baz, and a Klatoonian

[00:39:30] Jonni Boy: heavy, and he cuts himself. He walks to meet the person who put out the bounty. He wants, to basically get access to the shaft on the substrata.

[00:39:43] Jonni Boy: Mando follows the symbols to a door to the armor and Paz Vizla tends to him. And she's like, what weapon would cause such a wound? And he talks about the dark saber or she talks about the dart saber for by Tarre [00:40:00] Vizla, which is Paz Vizla's ancestor yeah, both Mandalorian and a Jedi. The Mandalore says I have met Jedi and the armor says you have completed your quest to rejoin the covert as we rebuild.

[00:40:15] And then she says, the mytho sore is rising up a new age of Mandalore be scar. She tells him is meant for armor, not weapons, cuz he has that best scar spear spear. So he she talks about Bo-Katan. And then she says, born in a mighty house of the empire, they, destroyed all we knew and loved in the night of a thousand tears.

[00:40:38] And she's not a fan of Bo-Katan, not a fan of Bo-Katan you like that?

[00:40:44] ZaneMan: I heard that one

[00:40:45] Jonni Boy: that was improvised.

[00:41:18] ZaneMan: you know, the other day I was looking at Lego sets and I saw one that had the armor, whatever vislo guy and the Mandalorian and it,

[00:41:26] Jonni Boy: oh, that's cool.

[00:41:26] It was really, it was like $30 for 300 pieces.

[00:44:05] So that's where, chapter five ends. And then you get chapter six in the Book of Boba Fett. From the desert comes, a stranger mysteries are explored and Boba Fett learns new information. Yeah, new information,

Mando shows up on the planet. Luke R two and Grau are on the planet with [00:45:00] Mando lands and he meets R two R two takes Mando through the forest.

[00:45:05] The joys collecting rocks to a big temple like structure R two shuts off. Which is funny. And the droids are basically building, a bench that Mando sits on to wait. So they're not only building the new Jedi temple. They build a bench for Mando to wait on and

[00:45:23] ZaneMan: Mando doesn't trust, droids

[00:45:25] Jonni Boy: doesn't trust, droids.

[00:45:27] so this isn't on Moss pelo. That was just the first scene. This is on a different planet. Grogu and Luke are meditating. Grogu gets distracted by a frog. He's trying to lift the frog into his mouth Luke opens his eye and sees this. So then Luke does what any teacher does? He lifts all the frogs like, come on.

[00:45:48] He's just, you know, Grogu's hungry. Just give him a food. Just give him the frog. He's hungry. A little kid likes to eat because Luke doesn't want to eat, you know, doesn't mean the frog. I mean, the Grogu [00:46:00] can't eat.

[00:46:00] ZaneMan: Yeah.

[00:46:00] Grogu gets some frogs.

[00:46:02] Yeah.

[00:46:02] You think Yoda eat frogs

[00:46:04] Jonni Boy: could, I don't know I don't remember what his.

[00:46:07] Wanted to say his little character came with a snake might have come with a frog. I don't remember. Had to go back and look Luke and Grogu go on a walk, which is kind of funny.

[00:46:17] ZaneMan: I really like that scene because I, know exactly what you're talking about when he's walking and he has to force,

[00:46:23] Jonni Boy: he forces Grogu like jump, like, you know, kind walk.

[00:46:26] So they're walking at the same time.

[00:46:28] ZaneMan: Very cute. I like that scene a lot.

[00:46:30] Jonni Boy: He tells Grogu about Yoda. Luke, helps him remember, and we see a flashback prior of three Jedi protecting Grogu from the clone troopers. Mando wakes up to find Ashoka there, and she's like, someday, this will be a school.

[00:46:48] Grogu will be its first student. Mando wants to see him. And she's like, I warned you of attachment. You see Grogu with Luke under a tree far off. [00:47:00] basically, is he a fondling or is he a Padawan? A SoCo will deliver what mano brought a Foundling Foundling or a Padawan. You said, fondling, a pad Foundling or a Padawan out of a fondling.

[00:47:18] And he has a little gift that the armor made for Luke, which I didn't talk about when he met the armor, she melted down the spear and wrapped up this little gift and it made look like Yoda ears when she wrapped it up was so cute. Yeah. We were wondering what it was. We don't find out what it, what it is yet.

[00:47:34] Mando, leaves and as Mando is leaving, Grogu reaches out to him through the force. Pretty sad. Luke trains which is funny. Luke, runs with Grogu on his back kind of reminiscent of, empire strikes back when he is training with Yoda. He basically takes a training, remote and fires on Grogu.

[00:47:56] Doesn't like it, but he does learn to jump. He eventually [00:48:00] destroys that damn remote and he starts remembering more of it training, at least that's what Luke said. Ashoka comes around. He's like, you're doing a good job, you know, natural that he's like, I don't think I'm training him as much as he's remembering.

[00:48:12] Ashoka and Luke talk and she says, I'll see you again,

[00:48:17] ZaneMan: will meet again

[00:48:20] Jonni Boy: some sunny day, probably on Tatooine

[00:48:24] ZaneMan: yeah. That's how the song goes.

[00:48:26] Jonni Boy: So then we go back to Fett's place. Mando arrives looks at a map of, the Mos Espa. He said, we need foot soldiers. Mando says he can help or he can get help.

[00:48:38] So he goes to Moss Pego and, uh, he visits with fan. And one of the guys that's running the bar says we're Freetown now, Freetown. They're no longer MOS. Pego they're Freetown, Freetown and Vanth lived at Garrison. Town wants no part of it. Vanth wants to have a meeting. and then a man through the Hayes, [00:49:00] could it be its Cad Bane, BU BU BU Cad Bane, CAD shoots, Vance, and his deputy, I shot the sheriff and I shot the deputy

[00:49:19] ZaneMan: that's what happened?

[00:49:20] Yeah. Yeah. And then like he's walking away, he's like, yeah.

[00:49:24] Jonni Boy: I shot the sheriff with, and I did. I shot the deputy.

[00:49:30] ZaneMan: Yeah.

[00:49:32] Jonni Boy: He is that, uh, that Cad Bane, he's got a golden voice.

[00:49:38] Two pike, ordered and leave. They forgot there, Canton and they're in the sanctuary and the Canton blows up.

[00:49:49] Jonni Boy: Yeah. Jedi School is complete Luke and Grogu face. Each other. Luke, says, Mando wants him to have this armor, Luke, basically [00:50:00] wants him to choose Yoda's lightsaber or Mando's gift the armor.

[00:50:04] ZaneMan: It would've been so cute if he had the lightsaber.

[00:50:06] Jonni Boy: I know that would've been cool, but Yoda was like, you know, he's like choose one only one armor and returned to Mando or their lightsaber.

[00:50:15] And you're the first student and you never see Mando again. Come on now. Grogu. What are you gonna do?

[00:50:23] ZaneMan: How come Luke gets to keep his connections?

[00:51:25] They're at the Tatooine sanctuary. Fett and Fennec are at the site of the sanctuary bombing. It's all basically huddled out everybody that was in there died. And the Pikes, back Mando is, hopeful. They’re hopeful for Cob Vanth and they hope that he's raising Garrison, so Mando back, and they're basically hopeful that Cobb Vanth is raising a Garrison.

[00:51:46] They don't realize that cob van and his deputy was shot by a Cad Bane. Cad Bane goes away singing. I shot the share riff, and I shot that deputy. [00:52:00]

[00:52:00] ZaneMan: He changed the, like the structure of

[00:52:03] Jonni Boy: CAD just does whatever he does, you know, he's a villain. That's what he wants to do. It's a bounty hunter.

[00:52:09] The mayor Mok Shaiz is hiding out with the Pikes. Cad Bane reports to the Pikes, finds out the Pikes, not the Nico riders killed that's sand people, friends, and big spoiler there. If you weren't paying attention.

[00:52:25] ZaneMan: Yeah. You better not have been doing other work while we're talking.

[00:52:27] Jonni Boy: I know our two delivers grow, go to Peli and Luke's X wing, tells him his name.

[00:52:34] She thinks it's a terrible name. She's like Grogu I'm not gonna call you that. Which basically is saying like what everybody else is not gonna call him that.

[00:52:43] Jonni Boy: They call him baby Yoda. She's like, that's a terrible name. So she's saying what everybody's thinking.

[00:52:49] They're Mos Espa Sanctuary the mod squad is what I'm calling them is patrolling the old city and spaceport six, um, of the go guards are there black Ks at [00:53:00] city hall, Dr. and SCD, and the other mods are the Quish quarter and the workers district. And then of course, Ando and, uh, and Boba Fett and Shand are at the sanctuary Cad Bane shows up at the sanctuary to negotiate for the pike.

[00:53:15] Syndicate Bobba does not negotiate. CAD says he paid Marshall Vance, a visit and not to expect free town, CAD reviews, or tells Boba that the Tuscan murders are by the head of the pike. Syndicate, Boba negotiates are terminated. So he doesn't negotiate. Oh, no. Yeah. They're terminated a Quish attacked the mods, the tra do ocean attack, black K or Santo as they're calling him now.

[00:53:46] Clinton attacked the Goring guards of the space port pushing them over the cliff. So sad, boring guards die. A horrible death.

[00:55:54] Jonni Boy: Yes he is. I mean he's pretty badass. Boba goes after, the robots with [00:56:00] guns. They have force fields, everyone runs Boba and Mando Jett pack, away boa flies off or reinforcement. So you're like reinforcement, what who's who else does he have Santo almost, got through the force field of that, ship with guns.

[00:56:15] PE shows up with grok gro jumps to Mando and he's like, you got the shirt. No way. Wait the shirt, you got the shirt.

[00:56:26] ZaneMan: What happened to his shirt?

[00:56:28] Jonni Boy: Where's your shirt?

[00:56:30] he got the shirt.

[00:56:33] PE calls it, a scorpion. Dr. So we know that there's scorpion DRS Bo shows up riding the rankor. Yes, this was, uh, you know, highlighted, damaging the forest fields.

[00:56:46] Um, so Mando gets in with the dark saber grow U uses the force and damages the droid and Boba, and the Ranko tear it up the mod free town, take a stand Bobba and the rankor show up [00:57:00] scorpion Dred versus Rainor and Boba defeats the droid, Mando and P and gro goose show up CAD Banin shows up. And the rankor throws Boba down because Bain is using fire Boba and, Bain face off Bain, rips BOA's helmet off.

[00:57:20] Bobba beats him with the gaff stick stabs CAD ban revealing the metal plate on his head, asthma from their pre previous encounter of a cut scene that they did during the clone wars.

[00:57:34] ZaneMan: I can't keep doing that. Have asthma

[00:57:37] Jonni Boy: Mando rides on, the rankor Groo, saves Mando puts the rankor to sleep and he passes out.

[00:58:07] Jonni Boy: something. Seba is cleaning up the town and showing an appreciated Santo and the mod squad, Mando Lee with gro launching into space for gro in their new N one star fighter. He's like, he's like knocking on the little glass. He's like all one more time. And so man fires it off and that's they take off?

[00:58:32] Yeah, there's an after credit scene. Nope. That's it. Cob van and about to tank and the, um, guy from the mod is looking over him with a torch. So, uh, he's not dead yet.

I think he needs to talk less, you know, but I, think it'll probably get a second season. I think they're gonna do a second season. And when they interviewed, two guys that are in charge of everything, and he basically said that we're getting a bunch of different star wars, which is the truth.

And you're playing as this beautiful orange Tabby cat. You walk up to one of your cat friends and you, paddle around a little bit.

[01:03:09] You guys are just like, messing with each other. You walk up to this other one. You, you rub them a little bit just to show a sign of friendliness. And then you walk up to the front one it's just, it like cuts out to the title screen. I think I'm guessing at this point, because I forgot it was so long ago.

[01:03:25] and then it cuts back to the next day and you guys are leaving home and here's where I'm gonna get more vague. Something happens and you get split up from the rest of your family and you end up in this place where it's all dark and it's mysterious. And you know that you are just a little cat.

[01:03:45] What are you supposed to know about the world? so you do what any cat does. You take a little, take a little nap and then you run off into a new world and you find that it's very empty. You start off in this abandoned town. [01:04:00] you're just so confused and you find that you can hardcore really well.

[01:04:04] Cuz you're a cat. You can just jump up to wherever you feel like. And you keep walking until you find these parasites and these guys hurt you real bad. So you got, you just gotta run. You run, you just, you book it. All right. You, when I say you run, okay. Are you listening? You run

[01:05:01] and you notice that it's not a human dun dun it's a robot. And he, sees you and he runs and you're like, what, why are they running from me?

[01:05:13] And you, and you start trying to chase him to figure out why he's running. And it was that all these other robots have noticed you. And, now can you stop? and now, they're like hiding in their houses and you end up walking towards this, like guardian, he's wearing a pawn show and he has a nice little hat on, he has a cane and he, you walk up to him and he is like, you're not one of those things, are you?

[01:05:35] and you, the cat, you just Meow. And he's like, yeah, you seem pretty chill as long as you promise it to eat when you're allowed in here. So then he go about your business and you're just trying to figure out a way back up and you're in this like place where you can't find anything.

[01:05:52] So you do a bunch of these little things, and there's even a part where you can, you, you find this [01:06:00] musician and he says, I'm the musician who knows no songs. And so you can, go and find some, like a music, recording, and he downloads it and he starts to play little tune.

[01:06:11] And you sit on some pillows next to 'em and you can Meow along to the song, if you want

[01:06:16] Jonni Boy: to. I did see that on the. Like a YouTube video or something where he was just kind of chilling with the guy playing a guitar. Yeah. That was pretty badass.

[01:06:25] ZaneMan: then you get to this, get to this part and you realize, oh, Hey, is that a, carpet?

[01:06:30] You like scratch your nails on the carpet?

[01:06:33] Jonni Boy: what would robots need carpets for? They probably the gears would get stuck in the carpet. I mean, so spin my disbelief. I get it. Okay.

[01:06:41] ZaneMan: I, I can't go into detail about these robots, but it, cuz it's more part of the lower that you'd have to get from watching.

[01:06:49] Basically the robots are imitating humans, but the humans are dead.

[01:06:55] Jonni Boy: Okay. So they would need chat carpet. I got you.

[01:06:57] ZaneMan: Yeah. Just for the style of it. You [01:07:00] go about your business and you learn that those little parasites are powerful enough to eat through metal. So, That's and you realize that they've built this big old dome to keep it from the harsh outside, but they realize that if this cat is here, then the outside must be lush again.

[01:07:16] And that's why it was so like explaining it at the beginning so you do all these little missions. You realize that there's a lot of these parasites guys, but if you have a black light, you can blow 'em up. You reunite families, you just be a cat in general. You can like push balls around.

[01:07:32] You can, yeah, if you feel like it,

[01:07:34] Jonni Boy: knock things over, knock things over, you love that

[01:07:37] ZaneMan: you can do that a lot. It’s a very cat game. And then, you know,

[01:07:41] Jonni Boy: it's a cat chill kind of game.

[01:07:44] ZaneMan: Exactly.

[01:07:45] Jonni Boy: Cat chill.

[01:07:46] ZaneMan: At one point, you get locked up in a prison cuz you, because you're just like, too cool for school.

[01:07:52] so lock up to prison. And then at the end of the game, you finally open up the top and you make it back to your family. [01:08:00]

[01:08:00] Jonni Boy: How wonderful of a game is that?

[01:08:02] ZaneMan: it's super short, but it's a beautiful game at the end. You can see the overview of everywhere. You've been like, you look to the left and you see that abandoned town at the beginning, you see the prison off in the right corner.

[01:08:13] and you see all like the towns and you see that there's more things, but like they've all been localized because of all the parasites.

[01:08:20] Jonni Boy: And how did you feel playing as a cat? Remember you remember my experience? I talked to you on the episode when we were talking about being Batman and I just thought that it was super cool that I could be Batman.

[01:08:30] Jonni Boy: What did it feel. To be a cat.

[01:08:32] ZaneMan: It felt like you genuinely just didn't care. I feel like these robots were projecting a lot of their problems onto you. I don't know how they expect a cat to solve it, but, you know, he does. And he was really cute while doing it.

[01:08:47] Jonni Boy: You know, maybe we do that to our animals. We want them to solve all our major world problems and they're just looking their butts every day.

[01:08:53] ZaneMan: I mean, but it works. Look,

[01:08:54] look at him, look at that.

[01:08:55] Jonni Boy: They're very clean. I mean, they, keep clean, but they're not solving world peace. ] [01:09:00]

[01:09:00] They could, but they could.

[01:09:02] And this game, they did knocking stuff over. I mean, that's a release, just, just knock stuff over every now and again,

[01:09:08] ZaneMan: one of my least favorite things about the game and it's not very negative. It's at the end, they never show you reuniting with your family. Aw. They just show you leaving the. Leaving the

[01:09:18] Jonni Boy: dome, leaving the dome.

[01:09:20] It's just implied that you return to your family.

[01:09:22] ZaneMan: It's implied,

[01:09:23] but I was like, it's such a big world out there. How's he gonna find them?

[01:09:26] Jonni Boy: Yeah. He, they should have showed you. So you had closure. Yeah. Now you're just gonna be forever wondering that, he returned to the family. I wonder if he got to his, pups, it, his pups kangaroos.

[01:09:37] I wonder if he got to the,

[01:09:39] ZaneMan: it worries me every day I wake up and I'm just like, oh God, did he get there?

[01:09:44] Jonni Boy: Did he get to his kids? And his wife? He doesn't know Dolores,

[01:09:48] ZaneMan: Dolores,

[01:09:49] Jonni Boy: I don't know, making up a whole pack story for these people.

[01:09:51] ZaneMan: Anyway, these cats. Did you have any inquiries about the game that you wanted to know about?

[01:09:55] Jonni Boy: No. I mean, you know, you told us, what most of about it. And I remember watching that one [01:10:00] little scene on YouTube or whatever, where he was cuddling when the guy was playing the guitar and he could stay there as long as he wanted, or you can get up and go on or. I saw where you could knock stuff over and crash into things and break, you know, windows and pains and yeah.

[01:10:12] And different things to get in. And, you could mess around with the different robots and make robots trip and all kinds of stuff. Yeah. And I just, uh, thought it was, I haven't played it, but I just thought, you know, what a chill game, you know, just kind of hang out, playing a cat. Exactly.
